A recent article on Inman News touted 4 technologies that were changing the game of real estate in 2016. I’m happy to say that David Young and Company has been utilizing these technologies within our marketing for some time now. The featured technologies were (1)3D home tours, (2)Virtual Reality, (3)Smart Home additions, and (4)Voice Command Technology. The most interesting part of the article to me were the reader comments that followed. Multiple Realtors commented that these high tech marketing tools were a “novelty…not a necessity” and “too expensive and out of reach for the average Realtor”.
This Realtor feedback is a great indication of the “average” mindset that many in our industry are continuing to hold on to….that the process for Real Estate will continue on in it’s traditional fashion. Real Estate, as an industry, is changing rapidly. Aligning yourself with a Brokerage that embraces these changes and invests in the technology to put their agents ahead of their competition is tantamount to your individual success as Realtor. It’s about learning how the new savvy consumer operates…how to reach them…and how to connect with them. The days of drive-by’s and bus benches are over.
