RE Ladies Who Lunch! David Young honored as Top Producing agent at 2015 WCR Luncheon.
The Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) welcomed three of Houston’s top producing Realtors to speak at it’s Houston chapter meeting today held at Maggiano’s restaurant on Post Oak. WCR is a network Realtors who’s mission is to empower women as industry leaders and entrepreneurs and is the 12th largest women’s organization in the U.S. with over 16,000 members.
On the panel was our very own David Young, Hedley Karpas with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International and Laura Sweeney of John Daugherty Realtors. The panel discussion was led by local radio personality Bill Knapik and focused on such topics as technology, social media, marketing tactics, and the secrets to success that have led these three to the top of their market. It was a full house with over 120 of Houston’s real estate agents and affiliates showing up to gain insights, network, and enjoy lunch.
While each panelist disclosed strikingly different career paths (David Young has an engineering degree and owned a successful golf marketing company, Karpas had a background in retail, and Sweeney was a stay-at-home mom who launched her career after a divorce), each of the three touted hard work and persistence as the key factors in the success of their careers. Both Sweeney and Karpas advised the best way to set yourself apart as a Realtor is to get out of the office and meet people. Karpas went on to offer the simple formula of “The more people you tell you work in real estate, the more money you will make”. David Young encouraged new agents, and those looking to reenergize their business, to “specialize” as Houston’s real estate market can swallow you if you don’t have a niche market. He also concluded his portion by teasing the audience to “stay tuned for big changes at David Young & Company”.
A special thank you to the Women’s Council of Real Estate for inviting us out and congratulations to David Young who deserves this honor and each of the many accolades he receives.
